English Language Challenges

Luckily I had a great basis for English before taking this class. I started learning pretty young by watching movies and listening to music in the language. Because I learned English this way, there were a lot of formalities that I wasn't aware of that I learned in this class. To me it was easy thanks to the basis I had.

But I think not everyone is this lucky. I have a few friends that dread taking English in university because they already don't know much. A lot of it has to do with the fact that they didn't get enough preparation while they were in high school, so they're expected to have a knowledge that they don't have. I don't know what the solution to this is. Maybe introduce them to the language in a more fun and engaging way, like show them movies with English subtitles on or something like that.

I liked having a blog. I wish there was more feedback to it though, so we would know if what we were doing was right.

I still need to get better in my pronunciation. I use English a lot, I love to learn the lyrics of the music I listen to and that's a great way of getting used to the language. I also read books in English when I have time. A lot of the media I consume is in English, so I'm constantly learning.
